Irancell is a communication service provider company that was launched in 2004 through the joint venture of MTN Group of South Africa and Electronic Development Company of Iran.
On December 6, 2004, the second mobile phone operator's license was granted to Irancell by the State Radio Communications Regulatory Organization and the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology of Iran.
